This is the first music we played when we approached this album. It was very cold and snowy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that day and a I recall the whole week. I was house sitting in a Mansion. I decided to record my next album in that comfort and brought the studio to me. I had more than enough room for musicians to crash and the joint was packed to the gill with my Artist friends who all pulled together in support of my dreams. I interrupted the "Milwaukee" album recording to bring in Victor DerLorenzo, (Violent Femmes Drummer), to record "Wonderland". The week was crazy. In the typically empty Mansion there now resided Myself, Chris Duarte, Dove Dewey, Ryan Pettersen, Diana Paswaters, and many other associated people throughout the week. We were tracking songs, completing them, pushing through hardcore arrangements, etc. When it came down to the "Wonderland" sessions I had the master room cleaned up. We had room to breath… and by the light of the fireplace in the biggest living room I have ever have in my life we recorded the "Wonderland" album. It's free form Jazz and Psychedelic experimental approach make this great listening pleasure through headphones and times where you just want to escape.
It was so much fun! by this point in my week I was exhausted; we ALL were. I just shut my eyes and went to Wonderland.
This is my first attempt at capturing this Psychedelic Jazz.
I find that the "Wonderland" album is great on snowy days, rainy days, and any DAZE you may deem fit.
